CONVENTION FEVER

Posted on September 3rd, by Nasty in News. Comments Off

9/3/12: Camp Freddy braved the tropical storm of Hurricane Isaac and the stormy waters of the political world last week when they performed at both the Democratic and Republican conventions in Charlotte, NC and Tampa, FL respectively. Both shows were hit with heavy rain storms and inclement weather (the show in Tampa was moved at the last minute by a day due to the hurricane and tornado alerts in Florida) but the band managed to perform different sets with different guests at both the One Oak pop up nightclub in Tampa and the Butter Pop Up nightclub in Charlotte.

Retaining a non-political stance, Camp Freddy agreed to play at both parties to simply bring some entertainment to the conventions. Band lead guitarist Dave Navarro and bassist Chris Chaney were unable to get to Tampa due to the storms, so Steve Stevens and Patrick Cornell stepped up at the last minute to make the show happen. Both shows are listed in the Events section of this site with full set lists and guest lists. Camp Freddy are enjoying their tenth year as a band and plan to announce their December Los Angeles Roxy Residency very soon.
